About Rochelle Kiam-Abraham

Rochelle Kiam-Abraham is the firm’s founding member. Of multi-national descent, Rochelle has a keen understanding of the difficulties immigrants face in advancing their cases through the legal process. In her immigration practice, she draws from her business expertise and organizational management skills, providing a holistic approach to serving her clients and addressing their legal and business needs. Rochelle has successfully prosecuted numerous asylum applications and Special Immigrant Juvenile status applications, as well as corporate H1B visas. She also represents juvenile and adult defendants in criminal proceedings, ranging from plea negotiations to complete dismissal of criminal charges.

Before practicing law, Rochelle worked for the New York City Department of Education for over a decade, where she served as a Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Rochelle worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer, creating and overseeing Integrated Service Centers in each New York City borough. These Centers were responsible for the business operations of 1,600 New York City schools, and the overall management of a $350 million budget consisting of New York State tax and federal grant funds. In her various roles, Rochelle served as a special advisor on numerous strategic initiatives that impacted schools city-wide. Rochelle also served on special Mayoral initiative projects, such as “Reducing Grand Larceny in City Schools,” and she met regularly with the Deputy Mayor’s office.

Rochelle is fluent in Spanish and Italian. She is a graduate of Syracuse University and New York Law School. Rochelle is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Morris County Bar Association, and the Passaic County Bar Association. In 2017, Rochelle was a guest lecturer at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she taught an Immigration course in the Paralegal Studies Program.
